Dr. Who

Yeah I am hooked. It took me a while to warm up to this show. It was with David Tennant that I really warmed up to the show and wanted to watch it every night and changed the wallpaper on my phone, own a Tardis mug, have a Doctor Who throw...

David Tennant is by far my favorite Doctor that I have seen. I would like to go back and catch some of the classic Dr. Who, maybe just a couple to get a taste for them. That is my thing after all...trying as many things as I can. I really don't like Peter Capaldi's Doctor (except the red lined coat...that is awesome). I think he is a fine actor, I just don't like the darker character of the Doctor who is much more apethetic. I think David Tennant's Doctor embodied happiness and Matt Smith was very innocent. I loved the optimistic Doctors the best. That being said I think the writing is the strongest in this last season. I have been really enjoying each episode and where they are taking the show. I mean come on...Using time as a component in a heist? Shrinking and going inside a Dalek? London becoming a forest? This is great stuff.

So now I have been through all 8 series. What's next?

Museum of Curiosity

I made it to the Curiosity Museum at Thanksgiving Point. M and I took a day off and went down there. It was a lot of fun. Quite busy, although I understand that there have been days since it has opened when it have been a lot busier.

Her favorite attraction was the bank at the play city. She sat for hours playing with the pneumatic tube. We stayed for quite a while. I forget to take the time to just let her play. Then when I saw her in action I remember the joy that they get just from discovering and playing especially at this age. It makes me want to remember that she is still a kid and won't be my play date for very much longer. I need to do a better job of enjoying this season while it is here.

Lazy Day

It was a lazy couple of weeks while everyone was off school and work.  I decided while we already in a lethargic state as a household it would be a good time to stay all day in my pj's and just focus on watching tv and doing nothing. I watched a very charming French cartoon Earnest and Celestine and some Dr. Who. I watched some FMA and a cute movie called The Great Seduction. I also played some Gems of War and Jet Pack Joyride. I did shower part way through the day (about 2) and changed into clean underwear and pajamas. (never put on a bra or my watch all day though). I think that I accomplished being lazy just for the sake of being lazy.

Eating at the Roof

Mike and I went to The Roof.  It was his first time, and my first time in probably 20 years or so. It was about like I remember.

My favorite things:

The Christmas lights twinkling down on temple square.

The live piano music on the clear baby grand piano. I loved just listening to her play. My favorite was when she played The Luckiest. It was awesome.

Great seafood: I especially liked the cocktail shrimp and the cold dill poached salmon.

Tender Crisp Asparagus (I went back for seconds)

Prime Rib (ditto on the seconds)

Mashed Potatoes: garlic flavored = yum!

My favorite dessert was the carrot cake. Very rich and thick...I will even forgive them the raisins.

Glad I had that nostalgic experience and had a wonderful night out with my husband.

Snowshoeing!

I bought some snowshoes on Black Friday at Costco and I have since been snowshoeing two times. The first time by myself and the second time with Logan. I went to the White Pines Trail both times, but I have as yet to make it to the lake. I have just hiked up a ways and when I got tired or ran out of time I turned around. Love it!
